The NFL season is in full swing as we are already seeing upsets and surprises, including only having two undefeated teams left. Here are my top 5 NFL teams through week 4.
5. Baltimore Ravens (2-2)
Don’t let their record fool you. This team has had one of the toughest starts to the season in the NFL. They just came off a dominating win against the then undefeated Bills. They had to start the season against the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Chiefs. Although they lost, they stayed in the game until the end. Baltimore has a 2-time MVP at quarterback in Lamar Jackson and 4-time Pro Bowler in Derek Henry at running back.
4. Detroit Lions (3-1)
The Lions just came off a great win against the then undefeated Seahawks. Quarterback Jared Goff had a perfect game, going 18-18 in pass attempts. Not only do they have a great quarterback, but they also have a top wide receiver in the NFL in Amon-Ra St. Brown. Their only loss is to a good Buccaneers team, that is just outside of the top 5 for me.
3. Buffalo Bills (3-1)
They took a tough loss to a top 5 Ravens team in week 4, but despite other people's opinion, that did not expose them. They are still a great team with an elite quarterback with Josh Allen and great young talent at wide receiver with Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman. They will have another tough matchup against the Texans that will really tell us if they are a justified team.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (4-0)
Many have the Chiefs as the number one team in the NFL, however, I disagree. The Chiefs have suffered two major blows with the injuries of their starting running back Isaiah Pacheco and starting wide receiver Rashee Rice. This brings them down in my opinion, but of course, they are still undefeated. I do believe that they will struggle in the future with these injuries.
1. Minnesota Vikings (4-0)
The Vikings couldn't have asked for a better start to the season. They have had a tough record, but have trucked through it, defeating both the Texans and the 49ers in a dominating fashion. Although there have been worries about the quarterback situation with Sam Darnold, he has shown that he can perform well. And of course, what you think of when you hear the Vikings, Justin Jefferson, the best wide receiver in the NFL. They will continue to succeed, even in a tough NFC North conference.
