Welcome back to WLTL, we’re the nation’s #1 high school radio station! We’ve got rock music from the 60’s to now, with new music getting added every week. Our music managers pick and add these new songs to be played during the shows. In addition to their many jobs at the station, some of our managers have their own shows, and so, we asked them what some of their favorite songs are to play on air!
When talking to Katie, one of our assistant music directors, she said that she enjoys playing Sound and Vision on her show. “It’s the ultimate retreat song,” so she can take a break from everything and just chill in the station with her friends. It’s so fun to listen to her on air!
You can listen to Katie and Michael on Wednesdays from 5-7 pm!
I was asking Tommy Riordan, our marketing director, what his favorite song to play on air was. He responded with A Nervous Tic Motion of the Head to the Left by Andrew Bird. “It explores themes of survival, existential questioning, and the repercussions of human choices,” a chaotic song that can cause some questions.
You can listen to Tommy on Tuesdays from 8-10 pm!
Finally, I spoke to Lilly, our head music director. Her favorite song to play on her show is Oysters in My Pocket by Royel Otis. “It’s just a really goofy but relaxing song. It kind of gives off the same vibes as midnight road trips.” The song was released on their 2022 album “Bar & Grill.”
You can listen to Lilly, Evelyn, and Nevaeh on Wednesdays from 8-10 pm!
